The news of gold always travelled quickly around the world. The lure of untold riches brought men and women from all corners of the earth to try their luck at finding a fortune. Join Di on a journey back to the early days on the goldfield in Gympie Cemetery and hear the stories of Chinese miners, merchants and market gardeners who brought their skills and their cultural practices to Gympie in its infancy.

Torchlight Tours are back! Our most popular event at the museum these self guided tours let you get up close and personal with the collection.
Discover the Gympie Bones after dark. Bring your torch and explore the exhibition with the lights out. Examine the bones and skulls up close, look into the corners and crannies of the cabinets and project your own shadow exhibition onto the walls and ceiling.
Online bookings are now open. Please choose a ticket type – Adult ($5), Child($5) or Adult accompanying children (free) and then choose an entry timeslot for each ticket.
We will be carefully managing the number of people in the building on the night. Ticket holders will be given priority, but this is the first time we are managing an event indoors under COVID restrictions so please be patient.
